I was 11 years old when this song first came out - it was a mind-blowing futuristic song at the time. Maybe you would have had to have been a kid/pre-teen/teen at the time this song first hit the airwaves "get the song's hype". - IDK. BUT I loved it then I love it now. Ahead of it's time. Just read science & technology news of today - we're getting closer to Mr. Roboto's in our world.

I can still enjoy this song since I had the album (vinyl) when I was like 12. BUT saw STYX recently and they absolutely blew away my expectations. They are very good live even now and I venture to say they might be better with the new guy (Lance) than they would be if Dennis was still in the band. BTW, they did NOT play Roboto or Babe! ;)

ONE of THE most hated songs, and this kind of stuff is why Dennis is out of STYX !!!! STYX first four records were some really good rock music, it had a heavy guitar oriented sound. Then the ballads started, then Mr. Roboto.
