Yep - great singers who made lots of money for Jimmy Webb, Burt Bacharach & other songwriters -- particularly the late Laura Nyro (Wedding Bell Blues, Save the Country, Stone Souled Picnic) -- whose own recordings of their songs didn't take off as well for whatever reason.
