Several of them were on gear at various points throughout their careers. Not sure why people choose to single out this particular song. As the late comedian Bill Hicks pointed out numerous times during his act, most of the great Rock music ever made has been made with the influence of drugs.

Geez..It`s no big deal ,kiddies.. it`s from the 1970 Album--Stage Fright...Everyone did drugs back then and recorded!!!...Sheesh 3 examples,what about Keith Richards.Lou Reed? ...Clapton and Co recorded the Layla Album while laying on the studio floor strung out on heroin-----The 70`s,now tell me who wasn`t on drugs?
