Their new record "Hollow" is an exceptional, atmospheric, original and great Country album in every possible respect! Each song explores aspects of the natural world and some songs are directly a homage to the inhabitants of the wild forests and mountains of the gorgeous unconquered american frontier. This album is a return to their roots in my humble opinion, which I very much waited for and welcome with open arms, and it is also more or less a continuation of "Through The Trees" and perhaps there are some bits of "Honey Moon" and of their masterpiece "Singing Bones" which I loved immensely, beyond measure. Brett and Rennie never fail to inspire with their gothic-americana filled molasses of sound, which creates pure joy to the ear of the listener and deliver honestly nostalgic tunes from the good ol' days. A deep well, a treasure hoard of traditional american music that will never fade or be forgotten. I love you dearly, my Handsome Family!!! <3 :)

Короче, хорошая группа из супругов, исполняющих кантр-фолк. «Singing Bones» - отличный альбом, и не только благодаря треку из детектива. Он на самом деле годный - и стоит полного ознакомления, как собственно и другие альбомы. Из новых «Unseen» 16 года также неплох. Прикольно еще New Vegas под него играть.

Not at all. It's inexpedient to compare 'cause it's different stories. Second season has its own atmosphere & style.

At first this "True Detective" nonsense bugged me because it's the exact opposite of the band's deadpan subtlety, but hey how could we not be excited with their recent success?
