@Nilaihah5 Obviously you haven't moved beyond a high school mentality because you're 35 years old sitting on the internet trying to attack someone for being what you perceive to be a "hipster". There are rules to define "punk", and it is cookie cutter, and trying to claim otherwise is, especially at your age, beyond pretentious verging on blatantly stupid. If punk didn't rigidly define itself then why did early punk bands choose to distinguish themselves from new wave, electroclash, punk, and post-punk? What's ironic about the problems Arab Americans face because they are associated with Islam? Maybe you should look up the meaning of irony. The tag "taqwacore" is still disingenuous and misleading because it isn't "Muslim" punk, it's Arabic punk and the bands of this genre should make the distinction instead of tying it to an oppressive, blood thirsty religion that seeks uniform conformity from all it's followers as opposed to the rabid individualism espoused by punk music.
