I agree totally with the last three comments. Sometimes a bit of screeching and wailing is fine (thank you Peter Hammill!) but I love this singing too. And like sploosh999 says, Renbourn and Jansch ain't bad either. Not forgetting the mighty Danny Thompson's bass!

What I love about the 70's folk genre, is that the singer is always naked (Ooh er...). Let me explain, free from vocoding, screeching, bellowing and shouting- just simple singing, relying on the tune, subject matter and crystal cut clear (often plaintive) vocals.
