@ SoundscapeMN: Who cares? Just by reading this bands wiki people could/can come to the conclusion this band is pretentious. The River Empires is good, but it's definetly pretentious, and just because an album is 3 dics and over 2 hrs long doesn't make something pretentious, Joanna Newsom sucks donkey testicles but I don't see it as pretentious because more people listen to her shitty music than listen to The River Empires. Her success is purely based on popularity and from the looks of it more people will listen to something because somewhere down the line somebody said she was good. It comes down to mass marketing and The River Empires don't recieve the same amount of marketing as that retard who makes my ears want to commit suicide. BTW does it really matter how many people listen to something? Less people listen to this than that... who cares.

NO NO NO, Brooke Waggoner is GOOD, and pretty much THE OPPOSITE of what Joanna Newsom is (and more, like The River Empires, who deserve a MUCH LARGER AUDIENCE). Brooke Waggoner has made 2 excellent solo record which I would describe as "less is more" lol. But comparing her and her new album seems pretty fitting based on your (NOW DELETED) post about TRE album being "boring " and "pretentious." Her new album is 3 discs and over 2 Hours long. But on last.fm it's listed that her music has 475,00 listeners. So if an artist with a new album that is "boring" and "pretentious" can have that many listeners on last.fm, The River Empires should be able to have a lot more than the 307 listeners it has right now.
