I was kind of lukewarm on this album after a few listens, but it's more or less the same as his output since 2012. He's abandoned the lofi/harsh sounding production of his first two albums, I don't know if we'll ever get that sound back. However, the album art really though me for a loop in presenting the album. The lighting of the photo looks like a video still from his Youtube channel. His YT really slick and everything is branded and produced professionally. Not exactly what a fan who's been following since The Wild Hunt is looking for. That gives the aura, at least to me, that this album is going to be expertly produced and sharp. I kept thinking it was missing something after several listens, and musically it felt light and stripped back compared to his last album. Everything he's done is good, and this is no exception. TL;DR he should have just gone with a cloud photo for the album artwork and it'd go over better than it has.
