The band continues the style of Dissection. Some may call it a rip-off, for me it's like Dissection had more albums. Which is great, because 2 albums in the old style aren't enough.

For fuck sake. It's obviously intended and they're not trying to mask anything. It's not a rip-off, its a tribute to a legendary band that no longer exists. I mean, we're not calling all the Death-influenced metal bands rip-offs too, right? It's called continuing the legacy of a music style that so many people still want to hear, because it simply sounds fantastic. Get your heads out of your collective asses.

Everyone's allowed to hate anything they want, I'd be the first to advocate that. It's not a matter of convincing people. I as well am just giving my own opinion on how I believe most of the hate towards them is unjust. If people are/were truly hating on death metal bands for ripping off Death (e.g.), we could be scrubbing half the genre. I personally think that's just a ridiculous reason, but to each his own.

I like Dissection as much as anyone but they have a contingent in their fanbase that seems to think they're the last word in melodic black metal. There's a guy on YT who plays guitar medleys of different metal genres and in the comments section for a melodic black metal video one commenter said something like "it should have been all Dissection songs. The rest are crap." Listen up young BM fans: all the "truer than thou" black metal guys are 50 year old dads now. You missed all that elitist nonsense. It's over. It was always silly, so good riddance. Just relax and enjoy the music.
