I know it's typical for people to say "the old stuff is better" when talking about music. I don't always think that's true, but rather people just think old stuff is better out of nostalgia. but in the case of two witches, I think there's actually merit to that. new album to me just isn't that great. I was also real disappointed with them live at the Los angeles gothic festival.

i think that it also has to do with the fact that if you keep making music in exactly the same style you start phoning it in and it becomes less original. most bands whose newer work is appreciated as much as their older work are bands that change their sound significantly during the course of their career. though even that isn't a guarantee. and there are also lots of bands that need a couple of albums to grow into their sound.

I would have to agree with a comment down, Lacrimosa is great, but Two Witches is WAY better. Though, I disagree they're the best, one of them? Yeah, but not the best.
