I believe U2's version is marginally better than Jack White's, especially if we're talking about The Great Gatsby. Whereas White's seems more about theatrical aesthetics, U2's has a more secretive tone. I guess it really depends on your interpretation of The Great Gatsby over which version of the song fits the book/movie the best.

first time listening to U2's version. Heard Jack White's first. U2's is good, but the amazing Jack White took it to another level.

I wish they'd used the original version of this song instead of Jack White's cover as soundtrack for The Great Gatsby. Jack's version is good, but U2's is so much better!!! there's an atmosphere to it that suits Gatsby' better imo. But the lyrics, oh yes, the lyrics are basically Gatsby's story as well!! Whoever chose this one was spot-on in doing so. :3
