I bought lp this when it came out too. I don't know how I even first heard about it. I love the big, vast, futuristic sound of it. Would sound just as current if it were released today. Nothing in the style or sound really dates this music, to me. Where as I hear some current prog and it sounds like it id come out recently-- the style of guitar playing and the overall sound of the recording. There's just some sort of almost jazz or experimental sound to UK's first lp that made it sound weird then and still weird now (weird is almost always good in bold music-- like in a King Crimson sort of way.)

Unknown Album???? It is from UK. I bought this album the day it was released. Played it to death on the old Zenith Allegro system and then bought 2 more copies, 1 more on vinyl and then on CD. One of my all time favorites!!!!!!! This album contains all of the elements for me, orchestral, rock, electronic, anthemic quality, minor and major keys, unconventional orchestrations and composition. It was groundbreaking in the 70's and still holds up to today's groundbreakers. Timeless classic.........IMHO

Yes, from the 1st album, but this version isn't the entire song. It's been a long time, but there's more to it; at a faster tempo. The whole song is great as is this album. My favorite track by far was "Carrying No Cross".

This is pretty hot stuff. This album never grabbed me before, but this is a hot track.

I saw their first Toronto show at the El Mocambo, and I had to sneak in, as I was under age at the time. Bruford's drumming was awesome, and Whetton vocals sounded just like the LP, clear and upfront.
