i adore how they made the ska-speed original more of a roots reggae tune, only occasionally shifting into double time...and they gender-flipped the vocal but not the lyric, to great effect. a perfect cover

"John Jones, you son of a gun." Coming from any other singer/songwriter's pen, this opening line would doom a song. But Van DykeParks can do no wrong...and now I hate John Jones, too.
