Back in the 1970s and '80s when a lot of anthology albums of 1950s music were released, I remember "Kansas City" being the song on more of these '50s anthologies than any other song. Besides being a flat out classic, this must have been a track that was easy to get the rights to to put on anthologies. Even my dad who didn't care for rock 'n roll (he grew up in the big band era) liked "Kansas City."
