This is the last song I heard while my grandmother was still alive. I heard it the last day I saw her and happened to hear it before I was left alone in her room to say my goodbyes when we knew she wasn't gonna make it, even though she went away quicker than we thought she would. It was a cold evening, it was getting dark, the lights were hurting my eyes because I spent all day behind my curtains and couldn't see the sunlight. I talked to her and she could barely say anything anymore and the last thing I said was ask my blessings (something we do in Venezuela), last thing she told me "god bless you". I kissed her head, turned off the nightstand light and shut the door as she was left alone for her last night. 24 hours later I hear this song again and I get interrupted by my father telling me my grandmother has passed away. Suddenly I can't hear this song anymore without picturing my last moments with her ever since, and doubt I ever will again. I'm thankful I had this song.
