传记
In 1984, Young Kin, aka. Andreas Yi-Jun Hwang was born in Basel, Switzerland. When he was only four months of age his parents (Chinese father, Swiss mother) moved to Beijing, where he has been living ever since. Growing up both in an international community and in Chinese society gave Young Kin a deep understanding of Chinese tradition and culture, without loosing contact with the outside world. At age six he attended a German international school from where he graduated in 2004. In the same year he started recording with MC Sbazzo, who was already well known in the Chinese rap scene due to his crew’s (Yin T’sang) debut album “Serve the People” (released by Scream records in 2003). In 2005, Young Kin joined Yin T’sang and started performing and touring all over China, opening for major Taiwanese acts like Jay Chou and Will Pan. It was hard at first for the young MC because of internal struggles with the crew, but he soon overcame that stage of his career as he went solo and then formed an international crew with Sbazzo called Bad Blood. Now, Bad Blood has members from Beijing, China all the way to Toronto, Canada, and is by far the most well respected crew in the Chinese underground hip hop scene. In November 2005, Young Kin joined the Iron Mic battle (Chinese national freestyle battle championship) for the first time, where he faced six-year Taiwanese Freestyle Battle Champion MC Davi (Cha Mi) in the finals. He lost to Davi that night, although it was a split decision between the judges. In February 2006, Young Kin went on a China tour with DJ Daddy Dog from Fifth Platoon (NY) until April. In between he did numerous events for brands like Adidas, etc. . After returning to Beijing he did several collaborations with Chinese and Taiwanese pop artists such as Eagle (Pan Mei Chen). Next to that, he worked on a theme song for Guo Bao Cang’s newest TV series for CCTV1’s prime time. After a show with Queen’s legendary rap crew ONYX in July 2006, he had a second chance to go against the Taiwanese champion at Summerjam in his hometown Beijing. This time he won. Now he is taking a break from battling, concentrating on making his debut solo album and building his own label. You can catch Young Kin perform along side Chinese DMC champion DJ Wordy in clubs and hip hop jams from Beijing to Shanghai. Their regular venues are Section 6 at Club Yu Gong Yi Shan and at Club Suzie Wong’s “Bling Nights”. Prior releases: Kinetic Raw Mixtape Vol. I (2005); King of Beijing Mixtape (2005); Section Six Mixtape (2006); Kinetic Raw Mixatpe Vol. II and numerous underground compilations he doesn’t even know about.
