Oh god, people making and describing their own tags is precisely why the tags on last.fm are fucked beyond belief. Not that mods could do any better, they haven't cared about the site in years. I hate this fucking site. I really hate the fucking tags. Out of all the site functionality they have stripped away for good, why on earth did they leave tags? God damn.

This is correct. I can't quite remember when the staff released a new version of last.fm or any new features / bug fixes. I feel sorry for all the people who subscribed to this site. Sadly I am statistics guy so I can not leave this site so easily :D. But you are correct: the tag management is totally broken. I used it to tag music that I like and want to give further attention to, but I believe they edited a bookmark function for this reason.

The last.fm database has an absolute crapshoot ever since they stripped the ability for users to maintain artist and album pages on their own and started pulling from places like Musicbrainz instead. It doesn't help that lastfm doesn't have a good way of handling multiple artists on the same track or multiple artists with the same name like Discogs does. Unfortunately they basically hold a monopoly of this service so we're all stuck here lol.

They (LFM-techs) need to start this manually but they first have to solve a problem in a different section of the database and that didn't get a high enough priority (because making a crappy app and Faceborg-integration are so much more important). OT: Can someone please call me names for using this tag? I feel quite naked without them :P
