I could see it being adjacent? maybe art-rock with post-rock and noise Rock influence over the crescendo of the song but idk its definitely not full on noise rock

every single lastfm user who tags the beatles' music with the tag "the beatles" should be waterboarded at guantanamo bay to explain themselves

Noise rock is great until it turns into edgy post-hardcore shit. Your recs are cool and really show true noise rock imho

And about edgy... Ramleh? Maybe, but the overall feeling after Ramleh is not edgy. Ramleh is more about doom or, I like our Russian word, "обречённость", while Big Black is like 14-year olds were given instruments. Songs About Fucking???Really??? Still, I think that way. I maybe wrong, totally wrong, and after sometime I would be really glad to like Big Black, other Albini's stuff and post-hardcore noise rock. What about Swans? I haven't discovered them deeply yet, so I can't say anything about them, unfortunately

I think you only put a specific type of noise rock into your frame of mind. The really out there psychedelic influenced stuff that is either from Japan or U.K., Discounting LRD, noise rock has always been a genre rooted in a punk. Velvet underground obviously, the stooges did a bit of it with Fun House, and Chrome one of the earliest modern noise rock bands. I do get that there is this specific strain of noise rock thats really "edgy" in lyrical content, pig fuck, but theres a bunch of other phc bands that don't have those lyrics (unwound, drive like jehu, daughters, etc). Tldr not all noise rock is big black its really only the amrep and touch and go bands you should stay away from.

I think you are right! I definitely should give phc bands another chance and I shouldn't force myself to love a certain kind of noise rock

I was a huge fan of bands like Oxbow Slint Helmet Melvins The Jesus Lizard Karp years ago but I didnt know that was called Noise Rock, or any other derivative. Ive been really into this genre for the last 6 years. Love it, its different . .

never liked this genre until I heard Daughters' new album, have a sense of seriousness to it that divides them so much from Swans for example.
