I am a very big fan of groups from Hello! Project, which is a subsidiary of Up-Front Promotions. I dabble a bit outside of that sometimes (48 Groups, avex groups) but this is the main section of Jpop I tend to hover around. Groups like Morning Musume (my #1 artist by far on this account), ANGERME, Juice=Juice, Tsubaki Factory and BEYOOOOONDS are all amazing and have pretty accessible content (for Jpop) and great / unique music! They are also notorious for being very talented live performers. The only downside is that none of their artists are on Spotify, which is annoying, but if you have Apple Music or ever listen to local files, those are always options. If you want more group suggestions or song suggestions don't hesitate to reach out again or look at my charts! 💜

For spotify artists, I would check out TOkyo Girls' Style, Up Up Girls Kakko Kari, Up Up Girls 2, Fairies, AAA and Arashi. I do like AKB48 but I'm not that well-versed in them. JO1 is also amazing but they are more similar to Kpop, just in Japanese (they are the first winning group from Produce 101 Japan). I'd say those are my favorites on Spotify right now!
