Almost nine years since its release and I still get swept up by it like it's brand new

Great album, I'm a already a fan. The way Chelsea looks in the cover reminds me of PJ Harvey's To Bring You My Love. Both amazing women.

This album is nothing special... tbh it's ok, but not even close to memorable.

Finally a Chelsea Wolfe album with some decent production! She deserves it. I do enjoy very much the hint of a more electronic sound scattered throughout most songs on "Pain is Beauty". And I've fallen in love with the album cover, the lightning on her pale arms and face, the darkness of her hair, the red dress being brought to life from a background of darkness, even the font type used, it's all exactly perfect <3

Great album. It's different from the last one, but still good. http://solmortuus.com/main/?p=652

Last three tracks are amazing. [2] Also Sick is great. My the most scrobbled album of the past six months.

The album is terrific. But there is a problem with the mixing. The "stereo picture" is way too far, as if the music is coming from the other side of a very long room. It's almost like a monophonic mix. Does anyone else have the same impression?
