I've only started to really listen to this and it's probably my favourite already.

I see this as At The Drive In meets Radiohead whilst listening to some later Beatles albums. My favorite P.TM indeed.

I think the guitar style and the drums have a little post-hardcore to them. But people probably say that because John Gourley used to be in a post-hardcore band.

Moved away from this? I'm assuming these people haven't seen the energy put into these songs when they are played live. This album is very unique, and very good. [3]

Boring? That description doesn't make sense for this masterpiece. While I am glad they changed, only because bands who record the same album over and over are hacks, I'm even more glad they started with this.

I have no problem not buying cds from a band because I support bands by going to see them or buying their vinyl which is so much better to hold than a tiny piece of plastic with a booklet with even smaller artwork.

To sabrage: I HAVE to own the physical copy. I love them. I don't feel like I OWN the album without one. I even buy the LPs. There's probably a lot of people like me

Buying albums is a dead practice. They have absolutely no worth the second you open them. Did you hear the one about the largest record collection in the world? Guy tries to sell 3 million records (appraised at 50 million dollars) for only 3 million on Ebay, and he didn't get a single bidder. Nobody cares about owning a physical copy of one CD because nobody uses a CD player anymore. And the fact that you're preaching this on a Portugal. The Man shoutbox? Laughable at best.

...this album is amazing. Not only purely musically for me...but, as with any other song-album-artist, means so much more because of the memories it is associated with. I bought this album at the Amoeba Records on Haight St. during a trip I took with two close friends, to San Fransisco, after I graduated college. Nothing brings back those rainy, beautifully confused, nights like this album (and, some DeathCab songs). You didn't BUY this album, or others you love? Consider your hand in the complete degradation of the music industry. First casualty? The artists. Support the music that provides the soundtrack for your lives. If not by buying the music, by going to shows, or buying merchandise.

This is a great album. Except for Chicago, which is extremely annoying in my opinion.
