this woman is so dumb this is probably her magnum opus after her not so memorable career and somehow she blew up and will never receive her best new album from pitchfork or being memorable for her music

The album is great but I am a longtime Roisin fan and I prefer all of her other albums (with the exception of Take Up Her to Monto which is kinda mid).

I don't know, in the end I found this to be one of her most boring releases. Kind of goes nowhere until the end.

It's not that often you see artists sign their producers as full collaborators on an album title like Roisin did this time on streaming services. Koze's influence is incredibly present here and anyone familiar with his work can hear it. I am glad that this collaboration was finally realized through probably the best album of this year.

Some albums that have an 8.2 rating rarely receive BNM, but there are some 8.1 that they received as Fever Ray's first album. Of course the rating would be higher, I would bet on an 8.5, even a 9...But I think they are looking for some way to "punish" Róisín, Not highlighting the articles that were certainly about her and the album, but choosing to talk about some dislike of Olivia Rodrigo. Possibly the album will not appear in the top 50 list at the end of the year, just as the songs will not appear in the top 100 of 2023, but they acclaimed the album that has anti-Semitic verses, so...

It's really possible to see how people can be cruel to others and many claim to be in favor of a welcoming community, but this usually goes down the drain. Róisín apologized and must certainly be learning from her own mistakes, something that we generally cannot see with people who express speeches and compartments that go beyond the internet, ranging from transphobia to anti-Semitism. As an LGBTQIAPN+ person, I know how within the community itself, there are people who are worse than a person who preaches death to gays or says that trans people deserve to be beaten to death. Canceling someone is very easy, cos generally the person behind the computer screen doesn't see their own actions. I already see that many are ignoring the album, I was very irritated that Pitchfork is ignoring Róisín, it's an unfair punishment because the same site wrote a review praising Noname's album which has an unfortunate verse by Jay Electronica that is extremely offensive. +

What is even sadder and more unfair is that several artists, in various areas, have had terrible attitudes, but are still being praised, in addition to making money with little or no punishment.People who love to be "correct", who fight for justice, look at themselves, their own attitudes towards the people around them and then give themselves the luxury of wanting to point out mistakes someone.I continue listening to Róisín, supporting her because I know she is a repentant person. Hit Parade is one of the best releases of the year, original, well produced and true. If you preach compassion and inclusion so much, really start exercising that, don't just talk about it in Instagram or TikTok posts to try to gain some followers, but be true in every word you say.

Unsurprisingly, one of the best albums of the year and her best album. Incredible production by DJ Koze (I still need to listen to Knock Knock). It's a shame that people seem to rate the artist, not the music.

yeah, I've never understood the assertion of separating the artist from their own art, as if they're not the one creating it. what the fuck? lol it's a lazy cop out at best. listen to it if you're gonna listen to it, but don't act like a controversial artist's work was fucking beamed down from outer space somewhere. give me a break.

Not unfortunately. It's a great album - just a shame people believe mob mentality over forming their own opinion. I bet some of those cancelling her are dying to hear it! I'm sure they'll give it a spin once they move onto someone else to cancel and they've forgotten what they were mad about in the first place.

An album which sets itself apart instantly and sounds like its own kind of universe. I feel like the sonic tapestry it weaves is so intricate and meaningful, it's like the modern blueprint for electronic and pop music forward who knows how long into the future (if we're so lucky). Not that being in the vanguard of art and culture is anything unexpected for Róisín Murphy at this height of her career...

It's gonna hit hard. I bet this was destined to be BNM with a 8.8 before the controversy. Now I predict a 7.0, such is the ways of Conde Nasty.

From the looks of things today, they haven’t even mentioned it on their website or social media so I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t review it at all.

They cancelled her real quick, I don't think they even care about the music anymore. They'll just ignore the two best new tracks and the article they did on her. Even if they review it, they'll give it a lower score, they know if they give it BNM they won't get away it.
