I'm surprised by opinions like "too plain rock & roll", "too rock to goth" complaints as if it were similar to Guns n Roses or AC/DC or something? Obvious exaggeration. As already noted below, this is a good old gothic rock album, just with rougher sound and heavier guitars. Still dark, still gloomy.

Andrew had a legal problem with the rest of the band after leaving in 1987. At the time I was living and working in London. I met him on King's Road. He told me that he wanted to go to Berlin. The other members wanted to continue with the name, but he said he was protecting the name. So they continued with the new name "Mission".

I prefer their works which came before this, but it is not nearly as bad of an album as a lot of people make it out to be . It certainly sounds like The Sisters of Mercy, but maybe with a heavier and more guitar oriented sound compared to their 80's output .

did u notice the ladscape picture of an industrial zone, very blackened but slightly visible, as background of the slavist egyptian pixelled eye ? (Easier to see on the paper than on the screen artwork). Think back of a Pink Floyd's artwork with the flying pig lol

Don't agree with people below who say it is 'criminally underrated', I think it's their worst album. I find this album a bit too plain rock & roll compared to their dark & atmospheric 80s work on the likes of 'Floodland' for example. By no means unlistenable but just not essential & pales in comparison to first two albums.
