Biography

Afor Gashum (‘Rainy Grey’) was an indie rock band from Tel-Aviv, which worked between the late ’80s and early ’90s. It was led by songwriter and vocalist Michal Sapir. Other members were Oded Shechter - bass, Oren Kaplan - guitar, Oren Raviv - drums, Alon Yadgar - guitar.

Afor Gashum released an audio cassette entitled ‘February’ in 1989, and a couple of radio 12” one-sided singles (a popular format in the Israeli music industry prior to CDs) that are now sought-after rarities. The cassette was reissued on CD in 2010 with several bonus tracks, around which time a new lineup played some reunion shows.
