United by default or an accident of critical intent. Tim, Craig, and Pat met in the halls of Downtown Rehearsal. At that time, without a bassist and known as Big Vivian, they crafted tunes in their small studio adjacent to a massive power transformer. Not sure if this is what made Tim sick, so to play it safe moved to another studio across the hall next to the famed Edison Betty and Life, Sex, and Death studio. Well away from the dreadful transformer and their recording finally finished, they decided to change their name to Metalflake which within days was quickly changed to Acid Hicks during a heated white board argument.
Through all this mess, they endured several bassist auditions, and insulted a few with their carnival clubhouse style studio antics, to finally hand the bassist position to a mutual friend of Pat's, Jackson Smith. One problem though is Jack didn't even have a bass rig. So, Acid Hicks bought him one, so long as he played in the band. Where's Jack now? Don't know. I have a good idea where the bass rig is though, and it's not with any of the other members of Acid Hicks. (just kidding Jack)
Acid Hicks can be heard on the tv series Degrassi: The Next Generation and MTV's Dressed to Kill series.
